A New Platform For Agents

The brokerage landscape is in flux. Mega Corp looks at our industry and decides they can do better than our traditional real estate model. Big Tech sniffs around our business and looks to exploit market “inefficiencies” with some sort of disruptive tech “solution”. Wall Street looks at our industry and thinks, how can we make big bucks here?

But who’s looking out for real estate agents?

Have a peek at an agent centric platform that’s not owned by Mega Corp, Big Tech, or Wall Street, but a platform owned by agents. It’s a whole new way of thinking about your career and your future.

About Derrick Ruiz CalBRE 00919713

Yes I am a rare creature, a native Angeleno! I was born in the small L.A. suburb of Montebello and could not imagine living anywhere but Southern California. LA is truly home for me. I am a second generation American born Latino. My grandparents came here from Mexico to give their kids a better life. They were salt-of-the-earth people who worked hard to attain the American dream. My Grandfather Frank also served in World War II and I'm very proud of him. My parents continued their efforts in order to give my brother and I a better life. I love the Southern California outdoor lifestyle. I love biking the Venice bike path and skiing our local mountains. I also grew up surfing and spent over thirty years enjoying that quintessential California sport. You can catch me at Malibu 1st point whenever a south swell is pumping! I also enjoy the rich cultural and entertainment opportunities here. The Getty, LACMA, MOCA, the spectacular Disney Concert Hall, and all the other fine institutions make LA an exciting place. I also love music and concerts. I've seen shows at the Greek, Staples Center, Ford Theater, Hollywood Bowl, Santa Monica Civic, the Coliseum, the Rose Bowl, and a ton of other L.A venues. From cruising PCH, catching a Lakers game at Staples Center, or catching some waves, there is always something to do here! I started in real estate in 1986 at the tender age of 24. Believe me, it was no cakewalk. I started out with no contacts and my friends were not buying or selling real estate. But I stuck with it and learned the business. Real estate was really my first and only career choice. I'm fortunate to have found something I really enjoy. I've been through a lot of cycles in real estate. When I started out in 1986 the market was fairly good, but still rather calm. Computers were showing up as dumb MLS terminals. Fax machines were unheard of. The market exploded in late '88 and '89. Then in '90 things went south in a hurry and foreclosures and bankruptcies soared. We limped along until '96/'97 when the market finally started picking up. And of course in 1998 the market exploded again and market was white-hot until the peak of 2005 and the start of the decline in 2006. Since then we had a tough several years with falling prices, short sales, bankruptcies, and other turmoil. Fortunately in about 2012 the market recovered and now in 2018 it has been great for several years. APARTMENT BROKER AND EXPERT I have been selling investment properties for the last 15 years. I have extensive experience with small residential income properties, larger multifamily buildings, development opportunities, short sales, probates, vacant land, commercial, rehab opportunities, foreclosures, and 1031 tax deferred exchanges. Most of my work is in Venice Beach and the surrounding Westside. However I have sold property all over LA County. INHERITED PROPERTY EXPERT Do you have an inherited property that you need to sell? I am an absolute expert in selling probate and trust sales. If you are tasked with selling an inherited property I have the expertise to help sell your probate or trust property. BUSINESS AUTHOR AND SPEAKER I have written and published a book geared towards agents called, Cloud Agent. It was written to help my fellow agents by sharing my hard earned knowledge. I am hard at work on my next book. One of the best things about selling real estate is the incredible people I meet. Many of my clients become very close friends and I hope you will too. The people here are diverse and eclectic individuals with interesting worldviews. Many of my clients are in the entertainment industry, high tech, and the business world. I truly treasure my clients and I hope one day that you and I can work together too.
